Christy Goldsmith Romero, a key commissioner at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), will step down at the end of the month. Her departure follows Commissioner Summer Mersinger’s exit, who recently joined the Blockchain Association as CEO.
During her tenure, Goldsmith Romero highlighted the resilience of derivatives markets amid volatility. "Derivatives markets experienced significant growth while remaining financially stable," she stated. The CFTC’s Technology Advisory Committee, which she sponsored, produced landmark reports on emerging financial technologies.
